How to download TikTok videos without a watermark

1. In TikTok, tap Share → Copy link.
2. Open the ansi home page and paste the link. You can paste the whole text that was copied with it — ansi finds the link itself.
3. Pick MP4 for the video or MP3 for just the audio, and tap Download.

The video is saved in the quality the author uploaded, without the TikTok logo or username over the picture. It’s the same source file the app plays in the feed.

Links from modded TikTok apps

Modded TikTok clients share links on other domains: tiktokv.com, tiktokv.us, musical.ly, or addresses with item_id and aweme_id inside. Most downloaders don’t understand them. ansi pulls the video ID out of such a link and turns it into a regular TikTok link, so paste it as is.

How to download YouTube videos and Shorts

1. Copy the link to a video or a Short — from the address bar or via Share → Copy link.
2. Paste it on the home page.
3. Pick a quality from 240p to 4K and MP4 or WEBM — or MP3 if you only need the audio.

1080p is selected by default: good quality, and the file is ready quickly. 4K is available when the author uploaded in 4K, but the file is bigger and takes longer.

Limits: videos up to 3 hours and 500 MB. Live streams that are still running, private videos and age-restricted videos can’t be downloaded — YouTube only serves them after signing in.

How to save the audio from a video as MP3

Useful when you want the music from a clip, a TikTok sound, or a podcast posted as a video. Paste the video link and choose MP3 or M4A — only the audio track is downloaded.

• MP3 — 192 kbps, plays in any player, on any phone and in the car.
• M4A — the original track without re-encoding: slightly better quality, smaller file.

How to download Instagram Reels and videos

1. Under the video, tap Share (the paper plane) → Copy link.
2. Paste the link on the home page.
3. Pick MP4 or MP3 and tap Download.

No login needed, and ansi never asks for your password. Videos from public accounts can be downloaded: Instagram shows posts from private accounts to followers only.

How to download videos from VK and VK Video

vk.com, vk.ru and vkvideo.ru links all work. Open the video, copy the address from the browser bar or via Share → Copy link, and paste it on the home page. You can pick a quality or save just the audio.

Videos from closed groups and private messages can’t be downloaded — only members can see them.

Rutube, Twitch, Pinterest and other sites

ansi is built on yt-dlp, an open-source program that understands more than 1,800 sites. From our server, Rutube, Twitch clips, Pinterest (including short pin.it links), Dailymotion and Coub download reliably. If a link leads to a page with a video, give it a try — it will most likely work.

Reddit, Facebook, Vimeo and Likee don’t work right now: these sites don’t serve videos without a login or have changed how their pages work.

Downloading on a phone, and where to find the file

Android

Open ansi in Chrome and tap menu ⋮ → Install app. ansi then shows up in the Share menu: tap Share in TikTok or YouTube, pick ansi, and the video opens on the site right away. Downloaded files are in the Downloads folder (the Files app).

iPhone

Open ansi in Safari and download as usual. The file goes to the Files app → Downloads. To get the video into Photos, open it there and tap Share → Save Video. To add ansi to the Home Screen, use Share → Add to Home Screen.

Why a video won’t download

• The video is private or needs a login — private accounts, age restrictions, paid content.
• The video is too long or too big — the limit is 3 hours and 500 MB per file. If size is the problem, pick a lower quality.
• The site is temporarily refusing the video — this sometimes happens with YouTube and TikTok. Try again in a minute: such attempts don’t count against your limit.
• You hit the limit — without an account it’s 40 requests per hour per address. That’s usually plenty.
• There’s no link in the text — make sure you copied the link, not just the video title.

What happens to files and data

The finished file stays on the server for 30 minutes so you can download it, then it’s deleted automatically. We don’t keep a download history, the site needs no account, and there are no ads.

Only download content you have the rights to: other people’s videos are for personal viewing, not for re-uploading.

For developers and AI agents

ansi has a free REST API and an MCP server. Claude, Cursor, n8n or your own bot can download videos, get direct links, or fetch a video’s transcript without downloading the file. A key takes a minute to get by email; the limit is 300 requests a day. Details are on the developers page.

Who makes ansi

ansi is a personal project of a single developer. It’s free and runs on a small server in Helsinki. The name comes from ANSI, the standard for colored text in terminals: the service has a profile that renders right in your console.
